Jackson "Trash"

from Invisible Choir · host Reach Freaks

On November 8, 2016, 26-year-old Brittany Southwell was holding her 7-month-old son in her arms, while inside her basement bedroom with her fiancé Tyler, in Jackson, MI. It was like any other Tuesday inside the home located in the 400 block on Jefferson St…until Tyler’s father noticed a suspicious SUV pull into the driveway from his upstairs window. Moments later, a knock came at the door, before several loud bangs turned to screams, and eventually… gunfire. After an intruder had kicked in the front door of the residence and proceeded to open fire, one person would be left barely clinging to life as they bled out on the carpet. Investigators eventually tracked down the suspect, and later recovered two livestream videos - recordings that the shooter uploaded to Facebook himself, capturing the entire horrific incident in real time, for all of his followers to see… Written by Michael Dunphy Jr., Executive Produced by Michael Ojibway. View the full source list at https://www.invisiblechoir.com/listen/jacksontrash  Support Our Sponsors:  BetterHelp: This episode is sponsored by BetterHelp. UnLearned Katherine and Bill UnLearned is a bi-weekly podcast focused on unlearning harmful narratives taught to us about blackness, womanhood, sexuality, and religion. Through our show, we hope to deconstruct these power structures and to create a space of relearning. As we share our stories, we hope that you will share yours. Together we can show that blackness means many things, that it is comprised of many stories, and that many voices make our choir.
