JaCorey Thomas Heads to Transfer Portal | Georgia Bulldogs Football News

JaCorey Thomas, Georgia’s standout safety and a key starter last season, is entering the transfer portal after being granted an extra year of eligibility via court order — a move that also benefits 39 other players for the 2026 season. His participation in Carolina Panthers’ minicamp reportedly triggered this legal maneuver, adding fuel to the ongoing debate over college football’s eligibility rules and player pathways. With West Virginia emerging as his top destination, Thomas’ situation underscores the growing complexity of NCAA regulations when NFL opportunities intersect with collegiate careers — all while Georgia turns its focus to the upcoming season and Tennessee State.
