Jamar Johnson & Shaun Lib Interview | Pure Rap Network

We got Jamar Johnson back on the Network alongside Shaun Lib — straight out of Providence, Rhode Island, while Jamar reps Lynn, Massachusetts. Jamar just dropped his new 5-track EP “The Mad Man” — out now — and we kick things off with the intro track “A Note To Self” (Jamar on production, Shaun Lib on the mic) You can find the Mad Man EP on all platforms. In this episode, we break down The Mad Man — from the creative process behind building a tight 5-track EP, choosing collaborators, and the story behind the cover art. We also talk about Jamar’s growth as a producer, including landing a placement on Benny the Butcher & Fuego Base’s “Ashes in the Safe.” Shaun Lib and Jamar also tap in on how they first connected, their chemistry as collaborators, and whether we can expect another project following their “Libtendo Entertainment System” EP 👀Shaun Lib also shares his roots — his introduction to hip-hop, coming up in Rhode Island, and what it was like opening up for The Lox and AZ. We get into some real hip-hop conversations too — including debates around Jay-Z’s GOAT status and the ongoing discussion about the state of hip-hop today. Of course, we had to run the Rapid Fire — from our favorite question, Choosing 1 Album, 1 Movie, 1 TV Show & 1 Book to top Nintendo games and that classic “last meal” question 🍽️🎮 Tap in for a dope, well-rounded conversation with two artists pushing real hip-hop forward! 🎧 Follow Jamar Johnson & Shaun Lib on Instagram! — support Real Hip-Hop! https://www.instagram.com/jamarjohnson_0/ https://www.instagram.com/shaunlib401/ Jamar Johnson - The Mad Man EP | Apple Music Link: https://music.apple.com/us/album/the-mad-man-ep/6768604760 Jamar Johnson - The Mad Man EP | Spotify Link: https://open.spotify.com/album/3M3C0gsn0HJJRwjSVatnch?si=snrXke7QTT2MZXRkcEE_zA Shaun Lib | Apple Music Link: https://music.apple.com/us/artist/shaun-lib/1515976670 Shaun Lib | Spotify Link: https://open.spotify.com/artist/2sFc1k3IYfQGMYlBmm01GY?si=FBYPnxbuTheDK53TO1f2RA From San Diego to the World, this is The Culture, Elevated. 🌎Outro Instrumental - Prod.
