Jamar: The value of our time

from Adam · host Adam Webber

Jamar called in today and shared his pain and love for his wife that passed away in 2011. He shared her memory and the experience he had when she was suddenly struck with a sudden loss of origin to her brain that caused some brain damage and her needing to stay in a hospital on life support. She was eventually transferred to a nursing home where Jamar would visit with her and even though she couldn’t respond to him he would sit and talk with her. One day he had to tell her that everything would be ok and if she needed to let go that he would always love her and he would take good care of their daughter. These loving words were what she was waiting for and a week later she peacefully past away. The riveting experience of grief and loss that Jamar had to go through taught him so many lessons about life and how quickly life can change. He was left questioning “why me”? He had to find the strength to be there for his daughter who was also grieving and dealing with the painful emotions of loss. Jamar’s story is about the power of love, finding courage to talk about our pains, being strong and doing the best we can for our family, and keeping the faith. Jamar knows that he will be finding his wife again in the next life and for that he is grateful. [email protected]
