In the dead of night as people sleep, that is when the spirits creep. As the bell tolls three, dark things take power. We like to call it the supernatural hour. Hey, welcome to the supernatural hour.
I am one of your hosts, Raven. I'm Rogue. This is Doc and Chad's here. And as always, we're super excited that you are spending some time with us.
Coming from the Attic of Despair in beautiful downtown Cedar Hills. It's kind of a sad name. The Attic of Despair in beautiful downtown Cedar Hills. Anyway, for some things we've got going, we've got an upcoming Insider's Investigation and Dinner at the Rock Canyon Trailhead Park in Provo.
Can I just tell you something? Yeah, you can tell me anything. I had the day wrong and I panicked because I thought we forgot to order the chicken and I was having about 300 heart attacks. Thinking I needed to order it today and I thought, For tomorrow?
Yeah. When I realized that it wasn't tomorrow, I was extremely relieved. And this investigation is for our insiders and if you are able to become an insider before the 13th or 14th of August, you're invited. So go out and check our Patreon page for the insiders and we can get you for this special insider's investigation.
And we'll have food and then I won't have ordered an panic 24 hours before. I'm so excited. Sounds like we're having chicken. Oh, it's so good.
I had it at a family event and I had to ask my author, I'm like, where did you get this? It's amazing. Sounds good. Yeah, we're going to have a great little event, a little dinner and then a great investigation at Rock Canyon Trailhead.
We've got some other investigations that we're putting together right now. Raven has been on the phone scheduling and working out the details. We've just got a few other details to put out. We'll be looking at our events, paranormal.com upcoming events page and we'll have things there soon.
We have our details. We just need to make sure they mesh with the venues details. So I don't want to tell you a date yet, just in case it's no bueno with them. So interesting.
There's some fun. There's some fun venues. What county are we headed to? Salt Lake Antita.
And Spooky Season coming up quick, folks. I put together a podcast schedule through the end of November already. I know. We've got Halloween podcasts in a few weeks.
So just all throughout the teaser because it's August we can talk about Halloween, right? Let's do it. So we are going to be in the past. We've done for kind of our Halloween episode.
We've done Halloween traditions and things, which is fun. But this time we're stepping up. We're going to do a Halloween kind of a three part series. Oh.
So we could look forward to that. It'll be fun. Sounds good. We were just given our new agenda.
So it's new to us as well. Well, it was, I've only known about it for like the last two hours myself. So prize three part series guys. I went to look at what we're recording in us.
I thought, oh, we're going to be out of our list here pretty soon. So that means summer's almost over. I'm excited for you. Kids are going back to school.
Parents everywhere are elated. It's the most wonderful time. Pretty much. Okay.
Sorry, I hijacked business. I think that's it. Is there anything else that I've missed? No.
Okay, other than we got. Yeah, watch the website because we should have those details. By the time this is posted, we should have details and have those up on the website. So we just don't have them as we're recording.
And as we talked a little bit ago about patron and our insiders event, we really appreciate our patrons. In fact, we got two more. This week, we're really excited to have a couple of new patrons. We'll get a shout out to them when they give us the names they want to be known as.
But you guys know who you are. Yeah, and we're really excited to have you. Thank you. Yeah, not thank me, but thank you, new patrons.
Absolutely. Clear for that. All right. Well, we have been kind of busy and we did have an event and we've had a few investigations.
So first, let's start with the Benson-Gris mill. And we just had, we had some friends invite a few of us out. And so we just popped out there. Tell them what the Benson-Gris mill is.
So Benson-Gris mill is an old Christmas mill. Wow, that was pretty to the point. You know, they're like mill-gris and stuff. So if you go out there during the day, it's St.
St. St. St. St.
Mary Park. I'm getting there, be patient. St. St.
Mary Park, Utah. If you go out during the day, it's really cool. It's an old Christmas mill that they've made into a museum. If you go there at night on the very first floor, there's like a headless mannequin that shows what they might have worn, scares that crap out of me every time I go there.
And they've got little log cabins that they've brought in from around different places to show what it was like and how they were. There's an old barn, there's an old school. It's pretty cool. I would like to go out there during the day.
They take kids out there for field trips during the day. It's such a large venue that you really can't even research it all in one night. No, I tried. I have it because I've been out there.
How many times have we been out there? Probably six or seven. Over the last five or six years. And I still haven't investigated every building out there.
And I tried, I wanted to immerse Chuck and Rogue into every experience I'd ever had in like three hours at work. There were some famous ghost investigators that have a TV show, a travel channel, a adventure and ghost stuff that went to the Benson-Gris mill. They didn't capture what we captured. We caught some cool stuff.
And if you want to see a really cool video, was it Lindsay that got that? It was. It was a really cool video and it was a pointeck talk. Super cool.
I still need to get a tic-tac-a-tac. Oh my gosh, you're so beautiful. I know, I'm like an old man. So when I was doing some investigating of different venues that we could do, I went out to Eventbrite did some searching and actually there's going to be an investigation at the Benson-Gris mill.
I think it's August, it might have already gone past August 2nd or 3rd. I think it's what it was as I was looking at it. Yeah, but it was $139. But this is from a group that people fly in from all over the country because they have investigations in Massachusetts and Oregon and different places.
So apparently there's some really serious ghost hunters that will fly into different places and do those kinds of investigations. And go to the Benson-Gris mill. And the Benson-Gris mill. That was my point about these adventurers with ghost related stuff.
Yeah. They came here to the Grist mill. I like how you're not saying the name. I'm saying, this is why you need to be on tic-tac because on tic-tac, they're always like, tell us you're a ghost hunter without telling us you're a ghost hunter.
See? See, you're a pro. Alright, alright, I need to get a tic-tac-a-count. I don't even have Instagram or Twitter.
Well, start out right on top, right up there with that. I got Facebook, guys. That's it. You're a little old.
Anywho. So then after that, we were lucky. And the very next night, we got to go out on an investigation with the Bounts Paranormal. And we got to take our groups out to Uyler Farm.
So that one was ended up to be pretty interesting. So tell us about Uyler Farm? Well, hang on. For me, Benson, it was the slow-night at Benson.
Yeah, but we got footsteps. We got... Well, we saw... We heard footsteps.
And it's interesting because I got pictures of Lindsey kind of looking down the hall. And then the video that we got was... Well, then we saw Red Eyes, which we could not debunk. It wasn't the cars on the road.
And it wasn't equipment turning off and on reflecting on the windows. And so... And then the video that we got that you can see on TikTok happened in between the footsteps and the eyes. Right.
So that was pretty cool. Other than that, it was usually a little more active. But it was... It was pretty quiet.
But it was a slower night. But sometimes it happens. It goes to things like fishing. Right?
But we still... We got the shadow figure. And that was pretty cool. He's pretty cool.
You can see him bagging up his... Chris. He's a flower. He's just a work.
He's just... He's just a working guy. And you can see him walking over and going to work and picking up his bag. And then he's standing.
And we've said a hundred times when I die if I'm a ghost, I'm not working. I'm going to go sit on the beach. I'm not. I hope I'm starting to go.
I'm playing with a beach. Right? Yeah. And then we'll say, woohoo.
I'm party. Yeah. The other doc sounds. And getting a snack bar.
That's right. I'm excited about the same bar. We got a snack fridge which is now filled with basically beverages from mom and dad at this point. Oh, but it doesn't say who's snack fridge.
Well, it is. Does it have your kids' names on it? I'm going to get a label maker and it's going to be mine soon. I love it.
I love it. That's awesome. Together was a public event for us. It's a dance paranormal.
So that's a little bit different because when we were at Gris Mill we just got to go out there and hang out. Go have some experiences but we had to find out we got to take everybody else out for some experiences. We actually – my group had we had a gal named Victoria. So Wheeler Farm, I think, is that cottonwood?
Go through it, cottonwood river? Little bit of creek, at least. Some body of water that moves. And there was kind of a wider spot and one of our regulars has purchased some dousing rods that look like white sabres and I have a lot of covetous envy going on with these light saber, dows and rods.
Yeah, they light up and so you don't have to like shine your black light on the glolum dark tips and then you can change some colors so you can you can say move the pink one if this and each one had what four or five different colors. I don't know I can see a lot of envy going on here. I'm going to stab on those dows and rods. A lot of envy.
So bless her heart she was a good sport. She said I wonder if you're standing in the water because water is a conduit right? Kind of gives the spirit some more energy and she said I wonder if you're standing in the water if you're a better conduit. I said well go stand in the water so she did a jig or she was in socks off and then she smelled bad the rest of it and this is not well moving water.
She probably listens to this raven. Come on. Well Roar was like don't ever do stuff like ravens. That's exactly what I said to her.
She did she went she went and stood in the water and it's interesting because I was taking pictures of her and in my camera on my phone is doing this weird thing and it puts this little fuzzy thing in the top upper corner so it's like ignore that but it was showing I took like five or six pictures of her and the first few there's a little reflection that's horizontal you know just kind of down by her feet but then and I didn't know this at the time but the very last picture I took there's kind of a large white mist that comes up behind her and over her almost like it's over her moving the dowsing routes from behind and at the time I took that picture she was asking this gal that we had named Victoria where she was and the answer yes no questions was behind her. The only problem with this picture is if you look at it and I've posted it on our Facebook page on advanced paranormal services you have to look at it in the dark because it's you know I took it in the dark so it's a dark photo so if you try to look at it in the light it's really hard to see it turn the lights off and you can see it much better. Agreed I've looked at that photo a couple of times and it does it takes a little bit to see it but it's there. Because when I was looking at it there it was just very obvious in the library I brought it home I thought I can't see that at all we just turned the lights off look out of the dark.
I thought you were going to say Chad was in the background eating a sandwich or something that was going to be the only problem with the fun. It rained on us and then when we were in the last phase of the investigation we were part of our team was off watching the SLS and another part of our team was watching a very large Native American dressed in tribal walking behind us and half of us didn't know if he was paranormal or just a homeless gentleman dressed in tribal gear. I think we determined he was real. He was real okay.
I was seeing one of the village people or something. I was just homeless. Right it was I mean for us to be out there doing an investigation and that was what was walking by I was like okay and I pulled the team it was like it's must be time to go. That's pretty weird.
It kind of was weird. I'm kidding it was weird. Well you know investigations even though sometimes like Benson it's a little quieter you know spirit wise there's always something that makes it interesting. You never know.
You just never know. A homeless guy in an Indian headdress. That's what I want to do. You know walk around at 11 o'clock in the Indian headdress.
We learn from him. What else are you going to do? He stopped and talked to some of the young ladies on the team too of course he did right. He didn't talk to any of the men or because when we popped up and was like hey did anybody else see this person?
Oh yeah we talked to him. He was looking for someone that he was. He's looking for that certain sort of ones. Yes right right right.
So outside of that though we did have one investigation one residential well just the other day. Yeah and you can tell that fall is coming because there's another one in the works. Oh really? I don't know what it is about summer but residential is just fall a little flat.
Well and then today there's a lot of smoke so people are staying home. Oh it's smokey here today. We have the worst the worst air in the world. That's a tongue twister right now.
We beat out all of China. Yes isn't that impressive. We're number one. We are number one.
Gold medalist right here. We don't know what we're talking about. We've got a low pressure coming through and so it's blowing and all the smoke from all the fires on the west coast and it's all just settled down in our little valleys surrounded by mountains. And we have our very own fire at Eureka too just to add to it right.
Awesome. How much a hank I'm about to buy. Oh how was it? Was it man-made?
Oh interesting. I studied the paranormal. I didn't really study it but my fire. That's interesting.
She didn't check out the weather and fire channel. Anyway so we went out to Soundquip which Utah County getting us out there and I kind of really liked this one. Family just buying a house starting to notice a few things moving. Light switch is going off and on.
I was kind of like closing. Oh it's kind of your quintessential I think my house is on to stuff. Right. And the thing that I think is interesting is the gal whose house we went to.
We've actually been to her homes before. She's sensitive because she can tell things are there but she called us out this time because her husband was feeling things not her. Right and he actually was standing in the kitchen and watched the cabinet open and it has Velcro on it. And it sounds like she half didn't believe him because the whole time we were there he was kind of quoting.
I told you I told you I told you. Right. It was cute. They were cute.
Yeah. Yeah that was nice. I liked that one. So really that one the lady had just passed away last fall that had lived in the back and her husband had built the home so her dream home.
She didn't really want to leave it and so she was kind of hanging out messing with them a little bit. That's a new couple of renovations. Is that correct? Yeah they were doing some remodeling and she did not like it.
She liked it just how it was. Yeah yeah. It was leave alone. And not that it was bad but it was time to update the carpet kind of thing.
It wasn't like they were knocking down walls or anything. It was just really basic carpet paint. Well and it's if I remember right they had already knocked down the original owners and gave it that more open concept. So I guess it's just that she wasn't knocking down walls or she wasn't removing the carpet.
I see. I see. Well. So then we found a 14 year old male spirit.
That's right. Hanging out in the 14 year old real life girls room. Well if I'm a 14 year old spirit that's probably where I'm going to be hanging out. Me too.
Not going to work. Yeah dad was not very happy about that. No. Apparently this young gentleman spirit was not doing anything inappropriate so he says.
But we we had him week two. Right and we were able to capture him on the SLS. So we've got some video of that and talked to him with Dowsing Rods and he was talking to the K2 and the ghost pro. He started out talking through those really well and then he got to where he just got kind of 14 year old boyish.
Like you could just start to tell that he was not. He was a little bit of a brat after a while. I'm sorry. He had his first ghost crush as a ghost.
And then he told him go away and he got that. You grounded him. No he was just doing kind of that 14 year old boy messing with you and not really telling you the truth. But then he would tell you the truth.
I mean I wasn't getting straight answers after after Hanfila questions. So that's like no we're pulling out the Dowsing Rods. We'll get we get some straight stuff going on here. So we got him crossed.
We got the lady crossed and then went out in the backyard found that there was a portal just left that alone. Little portal positive. The spirit energy there said this leave it open. The dogs like to sit there and bark at it.
So just a random spot. About the size of a golf ball wasn't very big. That's a small. And didn't we we have a spirit.
There was a spirit of a dog or oh we had that's right. Is a dog spirit out there. Yeah and likes to mess with their dogs. So it was it was pretty tame as far as residential.
It was interesting. Yeah it was fun. No demons. No demons.
No demons. Just type once. No nothing type three ish. Okay.
Sand day when there's no demons. No type three ish. All righty so today's topic is James Bean's Cursed Car. A Cursed Car.
Cursed Car. James Dean 1955. Yep. And I've heard about this and you know I turned a little snippet about it.
It always sounded interesting but I was like I researching it. It's I mean it's sad. But as far as the curse and the car it's way cooler than I remember. All right so I think we should start off with who is James Dean.
Oh you beat me to it. That's exactly what I was going to say. Do you know? The other.
He was an actor and a recenter. Was it Rebel Without a Caw? I believe so. I know who he shot.
I don't know that I've ever seen anything. He's been a giant. No Rebel Without a Caw. There's the third one I forget.
I don't know what to look out. And two of them came out after his death. The production had been finished filming had been finished but he hadn't done it. So he was just becoming a star and actually he won Emmys after he had passed.
In fact he he bought the money from he bought the car from the money from his first movie from the proceeds of his first movie. Now if I remember right wasn't he going to buy a different car and for some reason he couldn't. So he bought that one instead. Yeah it wouldn't come in.
So he got that one instead. And a little bastard. Little bastard. What a name right?
It wasn't just the name of his car. Do you know how he got that name? That was what they called him on the set. Ah.
Because he was the little bastard that wouldn't come out. It wouldn't do the thing. And he had that stenciled onto his brand new Porsche. Nice.
Yeah and it was a Porsche 550 Spyder. It was silver. It had some red racing stripes. Now if I remember right the racing stripes were common but the silver color was not.
There was something about the color that was part of it was a standard part of it was not. Yeah the red racing stripes were pretty standard. I think the silver color wasn't a standard. And then he had the number 130 put on it as a racing number.
He was an amateur racer. If I remember right he never actually won any races but he liked to. Yeah he was an amateur racer and he raced and he had other cars. This was like his fourth or fifth car.
You know he had other cars and he had I think it was a Lamborghini coming that wasn't going to be there in time. And so he bought this car as an interim car. I mean to use it. And it wasn't just a race car.
It was a car that you drove on the streets. But then you could race. I mean there's a lot of rally racers that kind of do the same thing. They'll have their street racer cars that they'll go out and race amateur with.
And Road might know a little more about amateur car racing. Not street racing. I'm a former drag racer. Two different things.
I was about to say thank you. Is he an amateur racer? Like I'm an amateur chef. I drive faster than I am a chef.
I drive faster than the speed limit sometimes. Sometimes I have to say I watch you sometimes when we're on Marco Polo and if there's an officer around you and you're on Marco Polo you are the best driver ever. There's an officer there. I don't want him to see him.
I don't want him to see him. I don't want him to get pulled over. He's not going to see you on your phone every time. He will.
He's not going to see you. If anyone's going to get pulled over for a beat on their phone it's going to be me. Oh yeah. When you're taking up two lanes.
Because you're on Marco Polo. No, I'm on Marco Polo. You're just like staring at my nose because I've got phones sitting in my lap. Now James Dean because he was starting to gain popularity and kind of turning into a little bit of a teenage heartthrob.
They actually had him do some public service. Don't speed little snippets for that. Was it the California Highway Patrol? I didn't know that.
Have they been airing? I think so. Oh jeez. Wow.
Do as I say not as I do. Yes. Oh. Wow.
That's like Chris Farley doing like an anti-drug campaign. Say no to drugs. So the interesting thing that I find about this is even though he did these public service things he had a lead foot and everywhere he drove he drove fast and not within a week of this accident that he had those cosplay speeding he had two friends tell him be really careful when you drive in this area because it's it's a speed trap. They've got a lot of cops there.
You know be careful twice. Twice he was warned if you're in this area. Was it was it? There was something was it construction or I think it was just a speed trap.
It was a speed trap and then there's a merge playing for one highway. Okay that's what it was not constructed. It was a fairly dangerous intersection area just because of where the roads were laid out. Again this is 1955 roads.
You got to be thinking you know this isn't the interstate so today or even the highways of today. They were paved and they were there but you know they were not nearly as well engineered as what we use. Probably not as well lit. Yeah so he had two friends tell him you know to be careful and to watch where he was going that particular week and then he ran into Alec Guinness.
Yeah the night that he got his car he ran into Alex Guinness and Alex Guinness got a bad feeling about I saw a YouTube video where Alex Guinness is actually reporting the story about what happened and Alex said he felt that the car was sinister. Right he actually wrote in his diary and what he wrote in his diary and I think it was a school in Alec Guinness to get the diary. Now for those of you who are not sure who Alec Guinness is he was a famous hacker. He played many of you will know him as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the original three Star Wars episodes from the C-head Force.
Right but he was a ghost in one of those at least. Wow two of them. Yeah it was really an unfortunate part of the line actor. So in his diary Alec Guinness said the sports car looked sinister to me exhausted hungry feeling a little ill-tempered in spite of Dean's kindness.
I heard myself saying in a voice I could hardly recognize as my own please never get in it. If you get in that car you will be found dead in it by this time next week and it was one week later. So the day to the day that he had this accident. It's a premonition.
Right and even we watched a YouTube video and well Chad watched YouTube video I listened to it from the other room as I was doing some other stuff but this isn't hearsay. I mean we heard Alec Guinness tell that story himself so this isn't just urban methods. Yeah there's there's video evidence of him making a statement about that that experience that happened. He being Alec's Guinness.
But you know James Dean he's young how was he when he told you 24? 23 24. Yeah he wasn't very old so when you're that age you know you're gonna live forever nothing's gonna happen to you he laughed but I find it interesting that he was warned three times to be very very careful. Some bad juju with that car huh?
Oh he felt it. We have only begun with that car. So yeah he laughed it off and you know going back to the two friends their names were Lance Revitlow and Bruce Kessler and they said this was the day of the accident and they said be careful we just we both got speeding tickets on this road so you know bring that bring your speed down. And I believe that he was going out to amateur race that day to a race.
I mean that's where where they were going he and he and his mechanic who had been a Porsche mechanic had worked for the Porsche dealership. Yeah his name was Rolf Wuthrich and they were going to the Salinas sports car races but it's interesting some of the research that I did they said that they felt like an angel or something was trying to warn James Dean something bad is going to happen you know do something else and he just blew it off. But they you know as they discussed with this mechanic they decided that it would be better for Dean to get the spider than run the engine and you know get it break it in a little bit and you know run it around and so Wuthrich was in the car with Dean when they were driving and then they had some people behind them in the truck and trailer you know because they were on their way to the races and so you've got your crew and your mechanics and equipment and you don't get a lot of equipment in a Porsche yeah like cargo space just suboptimal. So just outside of Bakersfield police pulled over the convoy and gave them some speeding tickets but James Dean and Wuthrich Wuthrich Wuthrich Wuthrich Wuthrich they just kept going and I think they said they're going 120 miles an hour.
I heard 90 but I wouldn't be surprised if it was higher. 120 sounds cool. I don't know 85. Yeah there you go so it says they were barely in down route 466 and estimated 85 miles per hour.
120 does sound cool. 120 kilometers per hour does that help? No. That's probably about right.
So there was a Cal Poly student his name was Donald Turnip's speed which I think is an interesting last name considering the circumstances. Not Turnip like the vegetable Turnip like make it bigger. Turnip the speed. He was driving a Ford Tudor and he decided to make a sudden turn on Route 41 which is kind of right there where those roads were merging like you were talking about and the impact set the Ford almost 40 feet down the road ejected Wuthrich from the Porsche and he actually wasn't hurt.
Dean was pronounced down on arrival and the student I heard just got a little scratch with him and even though the car was declared a total loss by the insurance company it just it still caused lots of issues. It was interesting because the car was a it was total and the engine and drivetrain were intact and were actually purchased by and you probably got information about this by a car guy that had the works on cars and he'd done like the Batmobile and different things for Adam Westley or in Batman series but he actually purchased the vehicle and was they parted some of the parts out. Yeah so but before we parted out after after the accident and you know everyone recovered and the funeral and everything Wuthrich had actually tried to commit suicide a number of times he was never successful but he went on to stab his wife 14 times. Geez I was going to say with this accident considering this is 1950s it's not like we had airbag technology it's not like we've developed any of these safety measures that we have now.
They didn't have seatbelts. They don't get it. I mean they talked about Wuthrich being ejected from the vehicle right you're thinking probably no seatbelts probably no airbags. How the hell did anyone survive this thing and then it turns out that James Dean is the only one who perishes in the accident that is astounding when you think about it.
And a nurse was one of the first people on the scene and you know they had to get him out they had to pry him out he was dead and she basically you know had checked and felt that he was dead and felt that you know her her diagnosis of the situation was that he had broken his neck and had probably died almost instant. Right just like you say but just know to think of the two other individuals recovered is just not so anything about impacts even today an 85 mile an hour side impact was something like that right there's there's a high potential for you know for multiple casualties there. Right and back then they built cars completely different than they built them now they built cars for durability. Right okay and today cars you know go oh those cars just crumple out they just you know you get into a minor fender bender and the car is just destroyed and it's like that's my design.
They are built to absorb shock right they take all the energy out so that the people in the car don't die. Right in 1955 the cars were built literally like tanks they were built from these same you know manufacturing facilities that World War II tanks came right out of general motors in these different places and they were you know very very solidly built and they didn't give much. Right you know they all of all of that impact goes into the human body at that point. Right yeah the car stops the body doesn't have seat built it moves forward it it's like an egg just being splatted and at some point people realize probably hey cars are okay quite a bit but everyone's dying you know maybe we can fix this and yeah you know like I said cars now completely different engineering they're meant to crumple they're meant to absorb shock and decrease that impact on the driver.
Yeah take the energy out of the impact and crumple up so that the energy goes into the stream of the body and you know the compartment the driver's compartment is more safe. Little master was not that kind of car. Not the not the crumple kind of car it sounds like it took a significant amount of damage but was still in some condition that it could be restored. And I don't think the Ford Tudor was either.
Yeah exactly. No the Ford's from there. I doubt anyone resorted but you know what I mean. Okay so to me I mean you hear about James Dean's curse car and everyone knows the story about James Dean but it's what happens after that even lends more to this curse so we talked about what's rich that he tried to commit suicide failed several times and ended up stabbing his wife 14 times.
He actually died in 1981 in a driving accident. Oh he didn't go to prison versus stabbing his wife apparently he got out. Oh if he did. Well I didn't research that part of him just researching what happened.
Try to get that's a good question. That's a little bit of time and then you're like how is he not in prison right now? What a little bastard. That's right.
I see what you did there. Okay so after this accident you know where James Dean had done some public safety snippets for the California Highway Patrol they bought the car even though it was totaled and they thought we're gonna buy this car it's total but we're gonna haul it around and use it as a public service. Hey this is what happens if you speak right? So but they actually regretted that decision and it did not take them very long to regret this decision because the curse follows.
So as they were haunted around one day near Salinas which is where they were where James Dean was going to the race. The vehicle that was transporting it was involved in a really serious accident and it was so great that the truck driver whose name was George Bar Hughes was thrown from the cab and then again again 1950s. The Porsche rolled off the truck bed landed on top of him and crushed him to death. So how freak right in the same place.
So then you wonder is the car cursed or is Salinas cursed? But we forged on. We've got more. But there's more.
But wait there's more. So the food dehydrator guy. But wait there's more. And the roaster.
And the spray on hair. Oh my gosh the spray on hair. That black powder that just accumulates on people's. We just ran so far in the weeds.
The wrong food dehydrator and sorry little bastard back to you. Okay so on September 30th which is anniversary of Dean's death there's a 15 year old boy and he became the next victim of this car. So he was at another one of these California Highway Patrol exhibits of here's James Dean's car. You know don't don't speed and he was you know just looking at this car you know just absorbing it all and I've been there.
I mean not there but you know where you're looking at something that's historically important and you're thinking wow this is where this happened. You know where where we were at Fort Sumter where the Civil War started and I remember standing there just going oh this is where it all started. So that's what this kid was doing and he was about 12 or 15 feet away from the exhibit and three bolts snapped suddenly and it's described as as if broken by spectral hands. They just snapped the boy screamed and the car plaid forward and ran over.
A little bastard. He didn't die but his legs were severely crushed. It rolled off the trailer. It was like on an exhibit and the bolts broke and it ran over this.
I just I'm just. I didn't think it was a surf disaway for cars like what is going on with this kind of momentum. I know like I'm not sitting on some type of platform but I'm just sitting here going. I'm wondering if it was about half bolts.
Weird. It wouldn't roll off and crush. You will obviously but if you just set it on the damn floor it's also not going to roll anywhere and crush a couple of chocks and you're good. I don't know.
So the next victim it was a few weeks later it was being transported again right because they're hauling it around because they're like after it crushed a child. Yeah they're still together. Nobody's learning the lesson yet. Please come see.
So and kill James. Well and it killed the driver. Oh yeah that's what I think. Is this what Stephen King based Christine off of?
Probably a little Kristini. Probably. Okay we've got to get to the next person. So it's driving around again right.
This time it literally snapped into slid from the flat bed of the truck hit the pavement which caused another fatal accident before it could be cleared from the roadway. A little bastard snapped into and still kill people. So Highway Patrol decided they'd had enough of killing people. That's not really their job.
And I don't know if the Highway Patrol owned it or if someone else owned it just lent it to the Highway Patrol but they decided to ship it back to California for a permanent retirement. So the car was loaded into a box car in Florida and was shut right I was gonna go and win it on a train and when it arrived in LA the seal in the box car was intact but the car was gone and it's never been looking to this day. Now have you really looked at what this car looked like after it was wrecked to think that it's rolling and doing some of these things that it's doing after the accident because I myself just had to go back and look at what condition this car is. I was thinking the same thing it's not like it's on its pristine little wheels.
Exactly. How's this thing doing all of this? It's pretty mangled. And then it disappeared.
They don't know where the car is. So we ran across some story of there's somebody out there who claimed they have it hidden but they were not going to give the location of it. So to me there's some conflicting stories because there is a fellow by the name of Dr. William S.
Rich who stripped it for some parts. I don't know that this is conflicting. I think this happened before it was sold to use for the Highway Patrol. I think they did a little bastard organ transplant to take some of these pieces.
The motor and the transmission right? Yeah they were used by another by another doctor that was a racer. Right and so there are a little bits and pieces of this car out there that they know of but as far as like the chassis and the main body of the car. But right so the motor the guy could died the transmission the guy died.
So those guys put them in their race cars and they both died. One of them hit a tree and it just had the parts of the car and it was killed and so this is why the curse of the little bastard you know was obviously gaining momentum because people are literally dropping like flies around this car. So I had to go and try to compare it a little bit with Paul Walker. That's a name that some people are familiar with a little bit more updated but he crashed in his in the Porsche as well.
However there wasn't a lot of similarities other than the fact that you've got a young handsome actor crushed in a Porsche. That was it. That's a pretty similar. Pretty similar.
But I wanted I was trying to look you know but was there any curse of the Paul Walker car? Nothing else. So here's a couple of little tidbits about little bastard. When it was in storage at one point and this was before the highway patrol started carrying it around.
It burst into flames. Little bastard did. I was about to say the Porsche that Paul Walker was in was engulfed in flames and that's probably the reason why nobody tried to salvage it but little bastard they're like yeah sure little incineration. We always go for it and restore this thing.
So a little bastard mysteriously caught fire and they said it had remarkably little damage. Had two melted tires and some singed paint but they had sold a different pair of tires in the 550 and both of those the one that James Dean died in. The ones that weren't destroyed because there were two that were still intact after the X. How cheap are people to rip off two tires from a total you know they didn't rip off.
They took them off and sold them. I mean the guy that bought was just gonna use them or what? And they did. The two that they sold reportedly blew at the same time and it caused a new owner to careen off the road.
I guess that's my point. Go get some new tires. At this point I'm going is which car? No I don't want to be by it.
I don't want to have anything to do with this car. If someone said hey we found James Dean's little bastard we found the chassis. Do you want to buy it? Nope I'm good.
I'm about the fuzzy dice that we're in the window. Nope. I'd stay away from the bolts. They just randomly break.
They don't need that car. So I saw an interesting part of the YouTube and they talked about it because it was like the 65th anniversary or something not too long ago of the crash and a legitimate group put up a million dollars if someone could produce the wreckage of you know verifiable produce. And they've got the VIN numbers. They know the VIN numbers so you can't just fake this and it's gonna match the VIN numbers.
You know people have said oh I know where it's at or I've got it and everything else but it's like a credible group has said there's a million dollars if you can make it you know if you can if you can bring it to his cheap baby. Yeah and so I find it's really interesting that you know if I if I knew where it was at if I you know if my father had taken and hidden it somewhere and you know and it's like I can get a million dollars and get this off my you know get rid of this thing. But would you be cursed? Would you be cursed for taking the money for that?
Oh no no what's someone else to deal with the cursed car take the million dollars. I'll be cursed in Mexico that's fine hanging out with me. How many do you drive in? It'd be great.
Yeah but anyway yeah it's been missing now for six years and I'm just curious you know is was there just a lot was it just a lot of the times and the safety wasn't there like it is now or do you think there was actually a curse but not? It's like some defective Porsche like come on now I did read that James Dean down a little bit in Satanism like some of the so I was gonna say so was it the car or was it James Dean himself that was cursed and did he stay with the car and he's the one that was unhappy and so he's very likely so there are also so James Dean you passed he's he's died there are beliefs that thanks for that. Have you had enough time to grieve his passing? So they say that 14 years before my birth they say that his body's been taken from his grave site I don't know if that's true or not James needs they say his headstone has been stolen people say that they see his apparitions sitting on his headstone people say they see a spectral 550 spider driving up and down the road where it crashed where is he buried is he buried in California properly I think we should find that list and take a road trip to James Dean I'm not picking people up.
You should see how long her nails are and what she was just doing but it's okay. I don't see that they're gonna edit that out probably not okay so I don't know this one to me is fascinating because well it can keep going because that car and those parts are out there so you never do know and people are still gonna be obsessed with it it's James Dean so this is an ongoing story. You know you make sure you wonder how many accidents and how many things have happened out there that are a result of this curse and we just don't know because we really don't know no one's messing up with the scars because I did run across some story that was October-ish 2020 that somebody's trying to claim that they do have the motor that they've matched serial numbers so you never know. I'm very curious where this car went.
And with the pandemic happening so many weird things you know people are getting more involved in what is in the garage what is out there we've had a little bit more time to go to grandma's shed out back with the false wall you know you don't know what's gonna happen. Yeah so there's one little one more little blurb that could be the cause of this curse car and we talked a second ago about how he kind of flirted with Satanism and was actually reported to possibly have been in a witch coven in LA and he became interested when he dated this gal named Malian Nirmi and she was an actress and he was kind of afraid that the affair he was having with her could negatively affect his career and so he publicly denied any involvement with her and kind of the rumor that's going around is that she she cursed him as spurning you know because he didn't you know I mean he's famous and you know she wanted to be the girlfriend of this rich famous guy so a lot of people think that she may have cast a spell on him. Never know. Maybe his car's because he was big into his car's right.
Never know. Go for the car. Yeah so who knows. One last little thing a little tidbit is James Dean was a smoker and it's also said that not only can you see him sitting but sometimes if you're around his headstone you can smell smoke.
We're headed to that head stone. There's another story. You can at least set up a camera. So the legend says if you if you visit the grave side and place an unlit cigarette of the headstone after dark when you return the cigarette will be lit.
And some homeless man will be sitting there smoking it probably some guy with a tribal chief you know. It's got a dress. Headdress and it's probably the caretaker. Right.
He's just trying to get free smokes. That's right. No no keep on him out here. I swear they'll be lit.
That's what happens every time I swear. People also say they see a hitchhiking Dean and he disappears when people stop speaking up. So there's all sorts of guys. I'm bucket listing James Dean.
Let's go find him. All right. We're going to do that. We'll take it live.
We'll take you on TikTok. Yeah. Come help us find James Dean. Speaking of bucket lists.
I've got a bucket list item today. It's my turn for bucket list and I want to go to the gates of hell. Well all right. I don't know if we talk about this yet.
I'm doing a whole lot of stuff in my life to get there. That's pretty easy to get there. I'm not going with you. You should.
No. Lock the door behind you. I don't like me. There's a there's a big crater called the Darvaza gas crater in Turkmenistan.
It is get your dimensions here. It's about 226 feet in diameter. It's 98 feet deep and it's a natural gas. There's a natural gas basically reservoir underneath it.
This crater collapsed down and it was leaking methane gases happened in 1971 and they were worried about the fumes from the methane gas going over so they said oh well let's wipe this shit on fire. Hey that's a great great idea. So it's still burning. Yeah they lit this giant crater on fire in Turkmenistan.
So you get into this back in the 70s and they're like I'll burn down a couple weeks. It has been 50 years and it is still burning a hole that is 200 feet across and 100 feet deep. It's just continuously burning for 50 years. That was a great idea.
And that's where you want to go. Yeah well great idea. Yeah come on guys. It's fire extinguishers I don't know but uh you know it's it's in Turkmenistan.
I lived in Beshkordistan which is a Russian republic right above all the state countries Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Turkmenistan, Dijakistan and I thought that would be an interesting place to go. And for like years and years they're like no no nothing to see here guys. They try to cover up this giant burning hole and they're like it's pretty cool actually. We can make some of that.
So they're like what we call it. We're gonna call it the gates to hell and we're gonna sell tickets and it's gonna be big. So okay so question what does stand mean? It just basically means like land.
Okay well that's going. Okay that's gonna be something cool. So how close can you get to it? Uh you can like go up and actually do tours to go see it.
I mean I don't know exactly how much can you stand on the ledge and look over and get your eyes and see. I think so. I know it's I know National Geographic did a little documentary on it not too long ago so you could probably sign that. The first vision I will like that was somebody trying to get a selfie.
I'm just kind of like you know someone's gonna do that if they haven't already right to fall in. Now I'm gonna have to go and go like google gates to hell selfies and see if someone has. But yes if you uh if y'all are interested it is in the Darvaza region in Turkmenistan. Right there.
Little red dot. It's all the red dot on the map. So that is my bucket list item. I'm gonna go to the gates of hell.
Cool. Alone. Oh sure we'll go see James Dean but nobody wants to go to hell. I know see how we are.
Okay so we've got my paranormal experience. What do we call this part of it? Uh personal experiences. Hey this is my paranormal personal experience.
We probably should come up with a cooler name. The paranormal personal experiences. That's not any better. In the beginning.
Okay I was thinking of a couple of paranormal experiences that I had. One of them is kind of UFO related and I've talked about it a little bit before on here but it's been a while. In the 19 probably the 19 80s. We live in a valley and there's a large mountain on the north side of it and I was out working in the garden one afternoon evening in the summer and I saw something very dark and fast go clear across the mountain in a very very short amount of time.
It was a flying aircraft of some kind and there was no sound associated with it and we lived within I don't know five or six miles of the actual mountain itself. You know so it wasn't like it was just so far away you couldn't hear it. I've seen and heard you know jets and aircraft flying you know in front of the mountain and everything and never anything that transited the mountain nearly as quickly as this did or as silently. So that was a paranormal experience for me.
I can't say something I can't explain and it's not something that I've you know I've been able to go you know and it wasn't you know it was just out of the normal and it literally you know we would kind of talk paranormal with something that I couldn't explain or figure out. And I did see one time coming back from California we went down into a ravine on I-15 an area that was lower and it was by me Air Force Base and this was back in the 1980s again and I saw some of the stealth fighters before they were known and I recognized them as planes you know it's one of those things they were loud they were things it's like wow I've never seen anything like that before but I didn't place them as a UFO or an identified or something that I couldn't comprehend or were put together but it but I knew that was okay this is experimental you know you know it was military military planes we were in the area between area 51 and and Air Force bases and different areas in the train areas so you know I have a different feeling between those two experiences even though they were both you know common and similar in a way but the plane transiting or the the object treading in front of the mountain was it was a different you know oh that's strange or the other as well oh that's cool right. So our paranormal junk drawer if you remember the one that we had just were laughing so hard it took forever to get through it this one's a little more serious and I and I it's important it's actually about a paranormal investigator that falls and she's injured and she's had well during a ghost hunt and she's actually taken to a hospital it's in Buffalo New York at a place called the Buffalo Central Terminal and it's low no-coop known locally to be a paranormal hotspot and she fell about 15 to 20 feet at this landmark and she you know searching for ghosts like we do right you're walking around with your cameras and you know oftentimes you're looking at instruments not so much for you to what's around you I'm a 35 year old woman unnamed and this terminal is best you know century old and she it's recorded that she fell through a substation roof she was taken to a local hospital treated for several injuries you know it wasn't going to a whole lot of detail and her current condition is not known so we don't know how how when she by herself substantial no there was a man with her he was not injured but it was reported by a local NBC station that they were hunting without permission in the historic structure that was my next question and so just you know whether you're on a ghost hunting team or just doing it on your own make sure you've got permission you know that we've been to several places where the people will say you know you've got run of the building but don't go here when we went to uh Rollins kind of gentry they said they usually didn't let people upstairs they did let us up um if we went in small groups and they said the reason we don't let people up here is because there's a few places in the floor you could fall through and so they knew that and so they said you know don't stand right there and so we didn't and those floors where you were falling through was like 20 feet they weren't just standard because I remember the Rollins prison where those things were done it was not a standard like 10 foot or 5 it was like a 20 foot drop right and so you know just just because there are places like that doesn't mean you can't investigate them but they just want to have someone there you know to say you know you go around this way or go around that we don't go through there you'll you know plunge to your death or whatever um but it's it's really important that when you go places that you you get permission from the the owners the property owners these old buildings are inherently dangerous because many of them are abandoned or dilavitated and you know the owners are going to know a whole lot more about that place than you and don't don't investigate alone because in a situation like that you fall you get hurt it doesn't even have to be critical you could just get to a point where you couldn't get out there's nobody there so you could you could die of exposure just because you can't get out on something that would be treatable if anybody knew where you were at and could come get you or you could you know somebody could help me definitely definitely go on groups yeah so when we investigate you know investigate it's fun to try to get evidence it's fun to be out with your friends it's it's fun to try to figure out all the mysteries that are normally us but please do it safely please please please right even when we were at Benson's Griss Mill when we were walking across there was a couple of places where they had patched the flooring that it was still breaking through yeah and it kind of catches oh shit it's like a three four-story christmup it could be a long way down to the bottom yeah even there was one of the one of the bridges that was outside you would have just plunged into a mosquito infested swamp that that was a little dicey yeah it was there's a few places and if you're out there wouldn't slide not a problem you can see this but when it's dark yeah and you're staring at your night vision camera because that's the only thing you have yeah yeah yeah hold it for sure you can see it happen yes for sure well thanks for listening uh oh last but not least get your super natural hour
