V úvode relácie premietnene film českej dokumentaristky Olgy Špátovej Oko nad Prahou – tragický príbeh jedného muža, jednej budovy, jednej lásky. Príbeh Jana Kaplického, jedého z najtalentovanejších architektov svojej generácie. Jan Kaplický opustil Československo spolu s mnohými svojimi súčasníkmi v roku 1968. Takmer o štyridsať rokov neskôr sa vrátil do svojho rodného mesta Prahy a čelí najväčšej výzve svojej kariéry. Súčasťou prvej časti relácie Večer pod lampou bude aj diskusia na tému Národnej knižnice s dvoma manželkami Jána Kaplického, architektkou Evou Jiřičnou a filmovou producentkou Eliškou Kaplický Fuchsovou.
