JANUARY 13 - Grace for the Humble3-Year-Bible Reading: Proverbs 3:34; Matthew 10________________________________________“Toward the scorners he is scornful, but to the humble he gives favor.” — Proverbs 3:34“And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell... So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven.” — Matthew 10:28, 32________________________________________Have you ever felt like being a Christian puts a target on your back? Maybe you’ve been laughed at for what you believe or felt like the only one standing up for your faith. Jesus knew this would happen, and in Matthew 10, He doesn’t sugarcoat it—following Him comes with challenges. But He also gives us something huge to hold onto: grace and favor for those who stay humble and faithful. Just like Proverbs 3:34 says, God gives grace to the humble—even when the world pushes back. Being bold in faith doesn’t mean being loud or arrogant; it means being real, courageous, and trusting God no matter what.________________________________________THINK ABOUT IT1. Who do you fear? Jesus tells us not to fear people who can only hurt our bodies, but to focus on what really matters—our souls. Are you more worried about what people think or about living in a way that honors God?2. Speak up or stay silent? Jesus promises to acknowledge those who acknowledge Him. That could be as simple as standing up for what's right, praying at lunch, or not hiding your faith. What’s one way you can acknowledge Jesus this week?3. God’s grace is worth it: Humility isn’t weakness—it’s strength under control. God lifts up those who don’t chase attention but chase after Him. Stay humble, stay faithful, and don’t be afraid to stand out for Him.________________________________________PRAYERHeavenly Father, thank You for loving me and giving me courage to follow You even when it’s hard. Help me stay humble and bold at the same time. Remind me that Your opinion matters more than the world’s. Let me be someone who lives and speaks in a way that points others to You.
