He clearly paints the picture of how we as humans easily accept and empathize with non-stigmatized illnesses, such as heart failure, and cancer, but don't make the same allowances with those that suffer with mental health. Jason gives us a lens on his self-care routines, techniques he uses to keep well, the importance of empathy and emotional intelligence, and so much more!!We also cover ground with culture, and how that plays a factor. He encourages us to take in this Ted Talk with Jame Geathers. In similarity, they were both diagnosed around the same age, with the same type of Bipolar disorder. In distinction, she is female to his male, and black to his white. Her journey with Bipolar is very moving. In the interview, Jason mentions Amie Quebec, and their part in his journey.
