The story follows producer Lorne Michaels and a team of writers, comedians and crew as they prepare for the 1975 premier of Saturday Night, which of course became Saturday Night Live. Remarkably, and in keeping with the spirit of the show, composer Jon Batiste wrote much of the score live at the end of shooting each day.
