Jason Walls: Newstalk ZB political editor on multiple public servants breaking impartiality requirements
from The Sunday Session with Francesca Rudkin · host Newstalk ZB
The fallout from the Rob Campbell saga has continued, despite Rob Campbell being out of the picture. Steve Maharey, ACC, Pharmac and Education NZ chair and Ruth Dyson, deputy chair of Fire and Emergency New Zealand have both been in the spotlight for breaking impartiality requirements. These cases have prompted Public Service Minister Andrew Little to request Crown Entity Chairs be reminded of their obligations to be politically neutral. ZB's political editor Jason Walls says that a wide majority of public servants know that they're obligated to be impartial and that these cases aren't part of a bigger pattern.
