Jasper City Council supports quarry

The Jasper City Council during its June 9 meeting voted 3-2 to recommend that the Pipestone County Commissioners approve a conditional use permit allowing Wm. D. Scepaniak Inc. to operate a rock quarry northeast of Jasper. The Council previously voted 3-2 during their May meeting to take a neutral stance on the permit, but Pipestone County Commissioners expressed a desire for the Council to provide a clear recommendation.
