Javon Bardwell Commits to Providence | Big East Basketball News

Javon Bardwell, a 6-foot-6 four-star small forward from Harlem, has flipped his commitment from Kansas to Providence — and reclassified to the 2026 class. After averaging over 20 points, nearly 7 rebounds, and 2 assists per game with Compton Magic this summer, he’s now ranked 36th in the 2026 class by Rivals. His elite athleticism, fluidity, and mid-range scoring make him a perfect fit for Providence’s fast-paced style under new head coach Bryan Hodgson. He joins Clyde Walters as the Friars’ second high school commit this offseason, while also landing Dink Pate — a former G League standout averaging 17 points — who’s being called their biggest offseason acquisition.
