While I was stuck on a delayed commuter train from Boston to Providence, I had the opportunity to mess around with the digital turntables and at the same time listen to a few tracks I hadn’t heard yet.This is the first of the three mixes which resulted.DJ 4D Files_2010-03-12 14_05_12 [Jay Dee (J-Dilla) Tribute All Beats By Madlib] was titled before I learned that J. Rocc also contributed to this batch of Beat Konducta beats, and as such is reflected in the embedded alternative cover.Initially, I was just messing around, but a sense of reverence kicked in and my mixing strategy changed. You can tell, it occurs rather early on. In truth, the mixing wasn’t all that hard, Madlib already did most of the work for me.
