Jazlyne Sabree talks 'The Spectrum of Resilience' | Midday Break Room w/ Tiffany Bacon - 4.20.26

Jazlyne Sabree is a Jersey-born/ Philadelphia-based interdisciplinary artist. Her work has been exhibited with many esteemed institutions such as the Montclair Art Museum of Montclair, New Jersey, The Newark Museum of Newark, New Jersey, and The Colored Girl’s Museum of Philadelphia, PA. From April 6th to June 27th, Jazylyne’s latest body of work, The Spectrum of Resilience, will be on view at the newly renamed Rowan University Museum of Contemporary Art (RUMOCA). The Spectrum of Resilience features Sabree’s large-scale collages layered into textured portraits of members of the African Diaspora. Her subjects are presented as spiritual messengers — figures grounded in ancestral memory yet fully present in contemporary life. Through posture, gaze and symbolic materials, Sabree conveys both vulnerability and strength, holding resilience and fragility in dynamic tension.
