Republican Nominee Donald Trump has named his pick for VP: Ohio Senator JD Vance. It’s a pivotal choice for the GOP, reports CNBC’s Eamon Javers, who is in Milwaukee for the Republican National Convention. Vance represents a new era for the conservative party, one of populist economics. Oren Cass, executive director of populist thinktank American Compass, is one of the movement’s leaders; Cass explains his conservative economics and the symbolism of JD Vance on the 2024 Republican ticket.
