Jealous for You
from The Father's Table
Usually when we think of the word Jealous; we think of being envious toward someone who is perceived as having an advantage in some way compared to us. We think of someone being hostile toward a rival of some sort. What if I told you that there is a use of this word jealous that is actually a good connotation, and one we should actually aspire to? In 2 Corinthians 11:2 Paul tells the Corinthian church that he is Jealous for their relationship with the Lord! He did not say he was jealous of; as if he were envious of some perceived advantage they held with the Lord. No, Paul longed for them to go deeper, and build an even stronger relationship with Jesus. In this episode we will look at this scripture and more, and see how it is ok for us to be jealous for (not jealous of) the success, growth, and blessings of others; just as the Lord our God is Jealous for us!
