Jeanette Trompeter: Still Anchored in Community, Now Moving in Purpose with Lumina Alliance | Up+Adam

March 24, 2026 Up+Adam Sponsored by Portabidet If you’ve lived on the Central Coast for any amount of time, you know Jeanette Trompeter as the trusted voice from KSBY. But this conversation goes far beyond the anchor desk. From a devastating ski accident that nearly cost her leg to rediscovering her body, her voice, and her purpose, Jeanette opens up in a way that’s raw, real, and deeply human. Now, she’s stepping into a new spotlight, dancing in Lumina Nights in support of Lumina Alliance, an organization doing critical work for survivors of sexual assault and intimate partner violence right here in San Luis Obispo County. This isn’t just an event. It’s an experience. One that will make you feel, reflect, and hopefully act. Adam and Jeanette talk about identity after leaving broadcast news, the evolution of storytelling in an AI-driven world, and why some of the strongest people we know are often carrying stories we never see. They also get real about fear, fundraising, and doing things that scare you just enough to grow. • Lumina Nights takes place May 1 and May 2 • Saturday is sold out at the time of recording, but Friday tickets and sponsorships are still available • This event supports life-saving services including a 24-hour hotline, therapy, advocacy, and shelter If you’ve ever wondered how to support something meaningful in your own community, this is it.
