He graduated from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis with a Master of Divinity degree. He served as a parish pastor in The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) for nine years before transitioning to radio ministry. He serves as assistant pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church in Millstadt, Illinois. He and his wife have two children and three grandchildren. Jeff Schwarz is the executive producer and general manager of Issues, Etc. and Lutheran Public Radio. Based in Collinsville, Illinois, he has extensive experience in media relations, issues and crisis management, strategic communications, and business development.
