I.      Motives matter when inviting people to dinner. (vs. 12-14)   II.    A generous host prepares an elaborate banquet and invites many. (vs. 15-17)   III.  The original invitees give lame excuses for rejecting the host and not coming to his banquet. (vs. 18-20)   a.     Material pursuits and idols (vs. 18-19)   b.     Relational pursuits and idols (vs. 20)   IV.   The generous host invites many others to his banquet who are weak, lowly, and rejected by the masses. (vs. 21-23)   V.    The original invitees who rejected the host will not be invited back and will miss out on the joy and celebration. (vs 24)   VI.  Jesus must be our first love and greatest Treasure if we want to attend the banquet. (vs. 25-27)   The Real Heavenly Wedding Feast – see Revelation 19:6-9   Main Idea: A lavish wedding feast is awaiting everyone who will come to Christ in repentant faith and make Him their greatest Treasure.   Application: 1. Motives matter; 2. All people matter; 3. There is no legitimate excuse for rejecting Christ.  Come to Him in repentant faith.
