(vss.1-2)    2.     There is great pain and guilt in unconfessed sin. (vss.3-4)     3.     Before we can experience God’s forgiveness, we must repent and confess our sins to Him. (vs.5)      The Necessity of Repentance    Luke 13:3 - 3 I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.     Mark 6:12 – They went out and preached that people should repent.      See Luke 5:32; Acts 17:30 and Acts 26:20       What Is Repentance - Biblical repentance is a change of mind, (agreeing with God that you are a sinner who deserves his judgment) which results in a radical change of heart and direction.     2 Corinthians 7:10-11 - 10 Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death.      The Value of Transparency, Confession, Repentance and Forgiveness – see 1 John 1:9; James 5:16; Proverbs 28:13     James 5:16 – Therefore confess yours sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.  The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.       Main Idea: Great joy and blessing comes to those who repent of their sins and experience God’s forgiveness
