Jeffries Is FURIOUS: Democrats Punish Golden & MGP

House Democrats are in disarray as Reps. Jared Golden and Marie Gluesenkamp Perez break with their own party and vote with Republicans on a key House procedural rule. Now, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries is demanding “consequences” for the two Democrats, raising new questions about growing divisions within the Democratic Party. We break down the latest Democratic infighting, including Jeffries’ crackdown on Golden and Gluesenkamp Perez and Rep. Jim McGovern’s reaction to Democrats who voted against the party. Then, we examine the growing controversy over climate change claims surrounding the devastating landslides and flooding in Nepal and Tibet. Climate activists and media outlets have blamed climate change and U.S. funding cuts for the disaster, but scientists say it is too early to establish a direct connection. Evidence indicates the avalanche that triggered the flooding was linked to the collapse of bedrock beneath the Yala Glacier, with geological and seismic activity playing a potential role. We also look at questions surrounding USAID and UN spending in Nepal, including billions directed toward “nature-based” initiatives and gender programs while critics argue that more resources should have gone toward practical disaster preparedness such as sensors, monitoring systems and warning infrastructure. Is climate alarmism distracting from the real causes of natural disasters? And why are Democrats increasingly divided over their own party leadership?
