Jehovah — Jehovah Jireh: Our Provider
from LifeWell Messages
God refuses to be carved into an image, so He reveals Himself through His names. This opening study in the Jehovah series turns to Genesis 22, where Abraham raises the knife over Isaac and the angel of the Lord stays his hand, and a ram is provided in the thicket. From that altar Abraham names the place Jehovah-Jireh , the Lord who provides. The teaching traces how God supplied for human need long before the need was felt, and warns against the impatience that drove Abraham and Sarah to manufacture an heir through Hagar rather than trust God's timing. Provision is framed as partnership, not passivity: God supplies the worm but the bird still has to dig. The challenge is a faith that obeys even when obedience makes no cultural sense, trusting that when we hit rock bottom there is a Rock at the bottom.
