Jehovah — Jehovah M'Kaddish: The Lord Our Sanctifier
from LifeWell Messages
The Jehovah series closes with Jehovah-Mekaddesh , the Lord our sanctifier. An enlistment analogy frames the difference between justification and sanctification: the oath makes you a soldier instantly, but training slowly makes you resemble one. Faith in Christ justifies at once; becoming holy is a lifelong refining, like crude oil processed into something usable. Leviticus 20 warns Israel against the detestable worship of Molech as they enter a land of plenty and temptation. God commands consecration not when convenient but as a calling, because the surrounding nations will think, walk, and live by another agenda. Holiness means being set apart, and it cannot be achieved alone. Grace is not a license to keep sinning but the reason to stop. Baptism happens once; repentance and sanctification continue daily, and the command to be holy still requires our willing choice.
