She struggled to fit in as a teenager but after high school she found her way, and life was filled with promise for the 20-year-old aspiring poet. However, this was all ripped away from her in the Summer of 1999 when her boyfriend, Kevin, came home from work and found her nearly decapitated on the bedroom floor.
