Jennifer’s Body with Greg McGoon

I thought this would be a funny connecting episode to last week. When Greg and I were talking about a topic for the episode he wound up randomly mentioning Jennifer’s Body and I KNEW that was the one, having just done “the Juno movie” The Wizard of Gore. Diablo Cody’s follow-up to Juno is one of the most tried and true cult classics of the 2000s. The term cult classic gets thrown out pretty abusively to the myopic terminally online folks, but Jennifer’s Body fits it. Critical failure? Check. Box office failure? Check. Zero recognition for prestige awards? Check. Rediscovery much further down the road? Check. Heck, even audiences in 2009 raked it through the coals.
