He's trained as a transport engineer but can't find steady work, despite the obvious need for better transport links in his area. The Department for Transport's own analysis reveals that per-capita transport spending in London has been deliberately kept below the national average. Skilled engineers and construction workers are available right now, many unemployed. The materials exist. What's missing is Westminster's willingness to fund the infrastructure his community desperately needs.
