Jesse Bauman- Two Unmedicated Hospital Births with Midwife

Jesse Bauman is a birth and postpartum doula from Calgary, Alberta who joins me on this episode of Moony Birth Stories to share her two pregnancy and birth stories.  Her and her partner got pregnant with their first child early on in their relationship when they weren't trying but also weren't preventing.  The pregnancy went quite smoothly and Jesse was monitored under the care of a midwife.  She wanted a natural birth and shares the story of her swift delivery in hospital shortly before her due date.  Jesse struggled with the postpartum period and her and her partner didn't end up deciding to start trying for another baby until several years later.  They got pregnant easily but this second pregnancy was much more challenging with a lot of nausea for a large portion of the pregnancy.  This time, Jesse was hoping for a homebirth but goes into detail as to why that didn't end up being the best option with this pregnancy.  After sharing this birth story, she talks about how different this postpartum experience has been for her and why.Support the show
