Jesse Blodgett

The small town of Hartford, Wisconsin was shaken to its core when 19-year-old college freshman and rising theater star Jesse Blodgett was found murdered in her own home. What first appeared to be an unthinkable tragedy quickly unraveled into something even more disturbing—an obsession that turned deadly. As investigators dug deeper, they uncovered a chilling connection between Jesse and her killer, Daniel Bartelt, a former classmate whose fixation had been quietly growing in the shadows. Through digital clues, surveillance, and disturbing evidence, law enforcement pieced together a crime fueled by fantasy, rejection, and control. In this episode, we break down the timeline of that night, the investigation that led to a swift arrest, and the haunting details that left a community searching for answers. Who was Jesse Blodgett beyond the headlines? And how did someone so close to her world become her killer? This is a story of talent, promise, and a life stolen far too soon—and a stark reminder of how dangerous obsession can become when it goes unchecked.
