Från ett år i isoleringscell till internationellt uppmärksammad konstnär – nu aktuell i Kalmar konstmuseums utställning Det sista straffet.Kort efter sin examen från konsthögskolan i Millersville 2008 dömdes den amerikanska konstnären och aktivisten Jesse Krimes till sex års fängelse för narkotikabrott. Under tiden i fängelse började han i hemlighet skapa konst av material han hade tillgång till – tidningspapper, hårgelé och fängelselakan. Verken smugglades ut bit för bit.Sedan hans frigivning har Jesse Krimes verk visats runt om i världen, bland annat MoMa i New York.
