Jessica Sharp: Poverty, Privilege, and Mindfulness
from The Goalink Show · host Goalink
Poverty, privilege, and race. Topics not usually discussed on this show. However, I remain dedicated to engaging in meaningful conversations. This isn’t a discussion arguing conservative, liberal, or any other label’s agenda. We talk about perspective, our experiences regarding these topics, why it’s happening, and what we can do to improve the situation. I encourage you to come in with an open mind (doesn’t mean you agree or disagree with everything). Come in curious and try to learn something new. Let’s do it! Jessica is passionate about empowering underserved communities. She has her Master's in Public Affairs and is currently working on her Doctorate in Psychology. She has lots of experience in the non-profit industry. She works for the YMCA, has her own consulting company, and speaks throughout the community. CHALLENGE: This week's challenge is inspired by Jessica and Sharp Brain Consulting: practice 5 minutes of mindfulness each day. Whether it's meditating, journaling, or 5 quiet minutes, mindfulness helps bring awareness and perspective to our life. Mindfulness helps us make more informed decisions. Instead of reacting out of fear, we can take the direction we wish to with a quiet mind. There are a few ways you can report back once you complete the challenge. WE LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU! You can post on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter using #goalinkchallenge, tag us in your stories, or use The Goalink Hotline. The hotline is designed for those who want to remain anonymous (or don’t have social media) but still desire a form of accountability. To use the hotline call (385) 626-0525 and follow the instructions.
