Jesus Doesn't Need You To "Get Over It"

from Still Held: The Harvest Path · host Ro

Presence comes before fixing. Compassion doesn't wait until everything's resolved. When you feel like God must be disappointed in your slow healing.Maybe grief took a sledgehammer to the theology you grew up with. Maybe you used to have answers, and now you just have questions. Maybe you're carrying shame about still being sad months later, wondering if Jesus is standing over you with His arms crossed, tapping His foot, waiting for you to get your act together.Sweet soul, that heaviness you carry about not healing fast enough? That's not coming from heaven. That's pressure from people who've never sat where you're sitting. Here's what I want to wrap around your heart today like the softest blanket: Jesus doesn't need you to "get over it." He came to get under it with you.In this tender episode, we're walking through one of my favorite stories in Scripture—when Jesus wept with Mary and Martha over their brother Lazarus. Because here's the beautiful truth: the Son of God didn't tell them to stop crying. He didn't skip straight to the miracle. He sat in the ashes with them first.Your grief doesn't disappoint God. Your sadness doesn't embarrass Him. Your slow healing doesn't frustrate Him. He's not waiting for you to get over it—He's walking through it with you, one step at a time, for as long as it takes. If you've been carrying shame about your sorrow, if someone told you your long grief proves a lack of faith—this one's for you. Your doubts are welcome here. Your anger is welcome. Your confusion is welcome.Because Jesus is big enough to handle your questions, and He'd rather sit with you in your mess than watch you pretend to be fine.Earthling, your love is not lost—it's just learning a new language. The porch light's on, the door's unlocked, and there's always room at this table for your beautiful, broken heart. If you’d like to come sit a while, you can find me at GrandmaFarmer.com.
