Jesus Fulfilled the Law

The Sunday school lesson traced the biblical theme of covenant and redemption from Deuteronomy through Joshua, Jeremiah, Malachi, Galatians, and Hebrews. Bill Morris explained how Moses commanded Israel to obey God’s law, Joshua faithfully carried it out, and later prophets foretold a new covenant written on the heart. Paul then revealed that through Christ, believers—Jew and Gentile alike—are adopted as Abraham’s heirs, united by faith rather than law. Hebrews affirms that Jesus’ sacrifice fulfilled the old covenant once for all, cleansing the conscience. The overall message emphasized God’s sovereignty, humanity’s need for obedience, and the truth that salvation and spiritual adoption come only through Christ’s redeeming blood.
