Jesus Heals Peter's Mother-in-Law

When Jesus heals the mother of Peter’s wife as told in the Bible, we learn of a woman who shows her gratitude by serving the Lord. After having been cast out by the elders, Jesus is now in Capernaum, a small fishing village where Peter lives with his wife, her mother, his brother Andrew, and possibly more. On this Sabbath day Jesus breaks cultural norms by healing others: a demon is cast out of a possessed man, Peter’s mother-in-law is healed, and many are brought at the end of the day to Christ for healing. Peter will soon leave his family and join Christ and the other disciples.
