Jesus Is Our Great High Priest (Heb 4.14-5.10) - 5-1-22

from Messages from the Word of God · host Nwankwo via Apogee

Scripture Texts are Genesis 14.17-24 and Hebrews 4.14-5.10 from the subject – Jesus Is Our Great High Priest.Welcome to Communion Sunday. Why do we have Communion? Well, it’s for two reasons. The first is because Jesus told us to do it. The second reason we do it is because we need to remember. You see, Communion is like a personal mini revival that helps us go deeper in our relationship with the triune God. We look backwards at what Jesus did for us (death, burial, and resurrection). He shed His blood so that you and I could be saved from the wrath to come. We look forward in anticipation of what He will do. He is coming back for those of us who belong to Him. He is coming back for believers who have accepted Jesus as LORD and Savior, for no one comes to the Father but by Jesus. He has prepared a place for us in heaven. We look presently at what Jesus is doing for us right now. The LORD is blessing us right now. He is seated at the right hand of God the Father interceding for us right now. He interceded for us because He is our Great High Priest.•Because Jesus is our High Priest, we can confidently come to God in prayer. (Heb 4.14-16)•Because God ordained it from the beginning, Jesus is our High Priest. (Heb 5.1-6)•Because Jesus is our High Priest and LORD, our obedience is expected. (Heb 5.7-10)Embrace and receive Jesus the Christ as LORD and Savior of your life today. He wants to be your Great High Priest too! Amen.
