Jesus Knows You - P

Connect with me here in text… tell me where you are listening. The most unsettling words Jesus can say might be the most healing: “I know you.” Not the version you polish for people, not the version that performs, but the person behind the wall. We start with John 10:27 and a brutally honest story of burnout and doubt, when every voice in the head gets loud and even God feels far away. From there, we ask a question most of us avoid: are we actually capable of knowing ourselves, or are we mostly reading our lives through exhaustion, rejection, failure, and fear? We talk about identity formation and the “masks” we learn early, the roles that look like strengths but often began as protection. Independence can be a response to not feeling safe. Helping can become a way to feel needed. Even Christian behavior can turn into a “Jesus mask,” where we look faithful while quietly wondering what would happen if anyone saw what we hide. That tension creates a life of selective being known, and eventually we forget what we are protecting at all. Then we name the wall for what it is: bricks laid down through wounds, trauma, abandonment, betrayal, and shame. We explore the pain relief loop, how busyness, achievement, relationships, addiction, or compulsions can numb what hurts, and how shame quickly turns coping into deeper hiding. The turning point is learning that Jesus knows what happened to you and also knows who you are, and those are not the same. If you are longing for Christian healing, freedom from shame, and a more honest identity in Christ, this is a place to breathe.
