Jesus on the Radio: Podsafe Music - Oct. 2, 2005

from jesusradio's Podcast

It's the first ever real live Jesus on the Radio podcast! Except it's not live. It is, however, real. Sadly, SarahKat and I were both a little sick, both a little tired, and both a little rusty, so we may sound a bit out of it. Do not adjust your player. We are attempting to control the transmission. It's only a northern podcast. How do you get the show? Well, you can get it manually off of this page, but that's a pain. The enlightened among us perfer a podcast aggregator. That's a handy piece of software that checks the site for you and downloads new shows automatically. The classic "podcatcher" is iPodder Lemon. Some other clients are listed here. Also, since version 4.9, iTunes supports podcasting. Until we get listed on the Music Store, you'll have to go to "Advanced->Subscribe to Feed...". My personal favorite for podcatching is Odeo, a website where you can manage your podcast subscriptions online, and then sync everything to iTunes or another player. Many text RSS readers now support podcasting too, if you already use one. If that last sentence was gibberish to you, ignore it. I'm not going to go into how to subscribe to a podcast in each of these; you'll have to look at the directions for your aggregator of choice. At some point, though, you'll need to enter our RSS feed URL. See the little "RSS 2.0" logo on the sidebar? It's linked to the RSS feed. Right- or control-click it and click "Copy link" or some such. You've now copied the address. Paste it into your aggregator wherever it goes. If you manage to get the show, congratulations! If you're still confused, I don't blame you. Email [email protected] with some info about what you've tried, and we'll hook you up. Thanks for bearing with me for all that. Good luck getting the show, and thanks for making the effort. Peter Show notes: Peter's sick. We're podcasting! The RIAA sucks, and Peter's still sick. Podsafe: The Bombhappies - Madness SarahKat is impressed. The show notes weren't up yet. Podsafe: bill - Sound Scientist SarahKat is still impressed. Peter's computer is being ornery. He prefers DJ-1800 to MegaSeg. Sarah Kat doesn't know the song "Funky Cold Medina" remix in iTMS. Mashup: DJ Prince - Funky Cold Ding Ding (via Mashuptown Radio) All our podsafe music comes from the Podsafe Music Network And it's good! Podsafe: The Reverse Engineers - Mercury in Retrograde Neither of us are impressed. Late introductions. Teh is in the Wikipedia. We are masters of the segue. Call us at (845)752-5300. We're probably not in the booth right now, but go ahead and freak out whoever is. We'll work on getting a voicemail feedback line set up. "Teh pwn" is not African, or Welsh. Podsafe: Brother Love - Summertime Peter misses the end of the song. Should we call the site Jesus on the Interweb? Maybe no show next week.
