What this episode covers

God did not unchoose Israel as His people, but Israel unchose Christ as their Messiah. In 1 Peter 2:4-5, these terms are corporate/group terms. We usually consider salvation an individual decision and forget to consider our relationship with God from an unit aspect. Jesus has assigned you value in His sight. Not that we are more valuable now, but that Jesus has made us precious to His heart. We are not a treasure or great. But we are Jesus' treasure, His inheritance. Jesus is passionate about us just like a parent disciplining their children because they are passionate about the children because they are the parents' treasure. God cares enough to both punish and bless you because He wants you in a right relationship with Him.
