Jesus Our Great High Priest-Appointed By God To Act In Compassion - Hebrews 4:14-5:10 (Sam Jones)

The sermon explores the role of Jesus as the ultimate high priest, drawing from Hebrews 4:14 to 5:10. It emphasizes that Jesus, unlike the Old Testament priests, fully understands human weaknesses because He was tempted in every way yet remained sinless. This understanding allows believers to approach His throne of grace with confidence, knowing they will receive mercy and help. The message contrasts modern notions of empathy, which often lack truth, with the biblical concept of empathy that combines compassion with truth and aims for redemption. By examining the priesthoods of Aaron, Melchizedek, and Jesus, the sermon highlights Jesus' unique role as both the offerer and the offering, who through His death and resurrection, provides eternal salvation. The call to action is for believers to trust in Jesus' compassion and run to His throne for grace, mercy, and peace, especially in times of need.
