Jesus Our One And Only

Title: “Jesus, our One and Only Because He is the One and only!’ Text: John 3:16; John 14:6; Phil. 2:9-11 Intro: The world and the world’s religions still cannot figure out Bible believing Christians: That Jesus alone is the One we worship and adore! Our text says that Jesus is the only begotten Son of God; He is the only way to Heaven and the only One that God has highly exalted! Jesus is the One we love and Jesus is the One we would live for and die for if necessary. Everyone that was ever loved, adored or celebrated was because of their life. But there is only one whom we celebrate because of His death and that One is Jesus. This is our message today. 1. Jesus is the only man to ever live that was born specifically to die.  His very name “Jesus” signifies He was born to die. Matt. 1:21  God the Father sent Jesus to die. John 3:16; John 12:23, 27  The Passover, Lord’s supper pictured His death. Matt. 26:26-28 2. Jesus is the only man ever to live that knew specifically how He would die.  He prophesied he would be crucified. Matt. 26:2  He described how He would die. John 12:32-33  This is exactly how His enemies killed Him. Matt.27:23, 26 3. Jesus is the only man that ever lived that knew specifically the suffering He would endure at death.  That’s why He prayed this prayer: Luke 22:41-44  He became man to endure the pain of the cross. Phil. 2:7-8  The maker of the body would of course know the pain of the whip, the thorns, the nails, and the cross. Col. 1:15-17  Don’t’ forget He inspired Psalm 22:14-15 & Isa 52:14; Isa 53:5-6 4. Jesus Is the only man that ever lived that death had no claim to.  He had no sin. Heb. 4:15  He alone did not deserve death. Rom. 6:23; 2 Cor.5:21  Death could not keep Him. Acts 2:23-24  “He had no sin so He had to rise again” 5. Jesus is the only man that ever lived who died so others would never die.  He came to give His life for others. John 15:13  The Scripture was given to show this truth. John 5:39  Jesus promised eternal to those whom believe on Him. John 10:28  Jesus alone can give eternal life. 1 John 5:11= the record of God. Conc. Death has no claim on those whom receive Jesus.
