Jesus Poked the Bear

Palm Sunday isn't just a fun story about Jesus riding on a donkey we tell our kids, but another example of Jesus stirring the pot. Not only did Jesus ride into Jerusalem like as King, but He also challenged the hypocrisy, corruption, and greed that had become commonplace in the temple and Jewish religious leaders. He openly opposed and called out that while the religious leaders had all the trappings of righteousness, they never let the word and law of God change their hearts. Jesus also did not let the high priests exercise their authority over Him. Just as Jesus was not afraid to poke the bear and stand on His authority. We as His disciples are called to do the same: allow the truth to change our hearts and stand for it in order to see God's goodness come on earth by the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ!
