Jesus Satisifes the Soul

KEVIN was OUT WITH A COLD TODAY, RELEASED HERE FROM THE SERMON VAULT (originally preached 8/21/16): Deny Himself, take up his cross, and follow me. Those eighteen words are going to be the focal point of the rest of our time together, because those eighteen words are to be the marks of a true Christian. Not a more devout Christian, not a, level 2 Christian, not a veteran Christian, just for a Christian. I want you to see here, that contrary to the American idea of privatized, compartmentalized religion, Jesus doesn’t leave a category open for the I’m a pew-warmer got work to do all week and I still put my 2 cents in the offering plate, and I got blessed assurance so I’m saved and I’ll leave the more rigorous Christian stuff to those who just naturally like more church stuff then I do. No instead, Jesus says to all people who would come after Him, claim to be a Christian, if you’re stepping in the door as a way of saying, “I’m on team Jesus,” then this is for you.
