BSF Lesson 9 John 6:22-40 Jesus: The Bread of Life, part 1 We live in a world that trains people in the art of bargaining, negotiating, haggling and manipulating to get people to do things in their favor. We are so good at it, the bargaining attitude and impulse shows up in our approach and relationship with God. If God could be manipulated by the ways you can shape and mold Him into your wishes and wants, would He really be God? Jesus refuses to be the materialistic ruler and messiah of other people's making. Today, we learn from Jesus about His being the "Bread of Life" which if anyone eats will give them eternal life. These are bold statements and teachings about God no one in human history has ever made which Jesus backs up with demonstrations of His authority and power. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. This bread is my flesh which I give for the life of the world.”
