We continue in our series, "Cradle, Cross, Crown" studying Luke 22:1-30 today from the perspective of John.Knowing what is soon to take place, Jesus arranges for a private, quiet meal to share with his disciples. Outside the house where they met, thousands of Passover lambs were being slain. Tomorrow, he will give his own blood to provide in a single offering the perfect sacrifice for our sin as our eternal Lamb of God. But tonight, he is focused on expressing his love. The meal he provides, the words he shares, and the way he serves all point to His love and commitment to do whatever it takes (at whatever cost) to secure for us the eternal love of God. Communion is about Jesus, his love, forgiveness, and grace. When we take of the Lord’s Supper, we do it to remember our life is founded and sustained in all we receive from Him.
