Jesus, the Suffering Servant

Isaiah 52:13–53:12 | You Are the Christ | Trent Hunter Here we have a sermon on suffering. Not our suffering, or at least not exactly. Rather, a sermon on the suffering of our Lord, Jesus Christ. We have suffered many things. We would have opted out of any of it had we the chance. Jesus, on the other hand, was firmly resolved to suffer. Jesus was given the chance to opt-out not only by Satan in his wilderness temptation, but by his own disciples when Peter rebuked him for speaking of his coming sufferings. In this sermon we will meditate on the text of Scripture that Jesus had on his mind and heart as he headed to the cross.
