Jewish Fairy Tales and Legends by Gertrude Landa | Classic Jewish Folklore & Children's Audiobook

⭐ Catholic Review: 4/5 A charming collection of Jewish folklore, biblical legends, Talmudic and Midrashic traditions, retold for children. The stories emphasize virtues such as wisdom, courage, generosity, humility, faith, and justice. Landa specifically drew from Jewish rabbinic lore and later Jewish folklore. From a Catholic perspective, it is not a Catholic work, but many stories concerning biblical figures provide interesting points of comparison with the Old Testament traditions preserved in Christianity. The imaginative fairy-tale elements and moral lessons make it suitable for appreciating Jewish cultural and literary heritage.
