Jewish Genius?

On this final night of Chanukah, The Group discuss . . . the Jews. Are they smart? Are they a race? Are they ethnically nepotistic? Bret Stephens of the *New York Times* recently stirred up controversy by claiming that Jews as a race are highly intelligent and possess “bracing originality and high-minded purpose.” Or did the ancients have it right in viewing the Jews as conformist, obstinate, and dogmatic?
