Jewish leaders in Piuttsburgh are stepping up security and vigilance with tensions rising overseas. Shawn Brokos, community security director for the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh, tells KDKA Radio the federation isn’t aware of any direct threats locally. Still, security has been increased as families prepare to celebrate the Jewish Holiday of Purim. Brokos says the community has been on high alert since the 2018 synagogue shooting, and leaders felt something like this could happen.
