孟小冬，女，北平宛平（今北京）人，梨园世家出身，是早年京剧优秀的女老生，人称“冬皇”。是京剧著名老生余叔岩的弟子，余派的优秀传人之一。她的扮相威武、神气，唱腔端严厚重，坤生略无雌声。孟小冬一生坎坷，1977年在台湾去世。
