教学:教授们,你们因为什么原因会青睐某个或某些国际学生
from Quora Selected 附导读
Professor, what makes you like an international student in your class? Marcia J. Bates, UCLA Professor Emerita of Information StudiesUpdated Feb 12 I found that many international students have gone to school in countries where asking questions in class was considered undesirable, so the students have become accustomed to not speaking up in class. However, the American style of learning is to ask questions and make comments in the lectures or discussion, unless it is a very large class. The expectation is that the classroom is an arena where you learn, and if you don't understand, how can you learn? Therefore, it is expected that you ask questions of the professor, and express differences with other students, in order to deepen your understanding and to form your own views of controversial subjects. So what I liked in international students was for them to overcome their concerns about speaking up, and participate in the class in the way that the other students did.
