Jim Harrick - Former UCLA Head Coach and National Champion in 1995 in The Sports Deli

Jim Harrick joins Hootie Hoot in The Sports Deli for this epic podcast. He talks about his days growing up in Charleston, West Virginia where he was segregated but how he and the neighborhood kids didn't care and integrated together through basketball at the local parks. He then talks about his move to Morningside High School in Inglewood, California in 1964. He learned from the late great John Wooden, Pete Newell, and so many other legendary coaches before becoming the Head Coach at UCLA and later at the University of Rhode Island where he coached Lamar Odom and then the University of Georgia. He spent time as an NBA scout and is now an Assistant Coach at Cal State Northridge under Mark Gottfried, one of his assistant coaches on his staff during his 1995 National Championship run. Coach shares his feelings about mental health, the racial reckoning, how lucky he is to have so many amazing relationships and you don't want to miss his answers to our very famous rapid fire, "This or That" segment of the podcast.
